INSTRUCTOR

Hector Maldonado

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Héctor Maldonado lives and works in Miami, Florida. Maldonado holds a Bachelors (cum laude) and a Masters in Fine Arts, Painting.

The artist has exhibited in Florida, New York, California, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Spain. He has been an art instructor at the Bass Museum of Art for the last five (5) years and offers private art classes in his own studio, located in Wynwood, Miami, Florida. 

The instructor will guide participants in the understanding of plein air painting, based on various artist and art movement such as Impressionism, Expressionism and many more from a text book that will be guide over open conversation and critique sessions where the group will discuss the work done each day, reinforce thematic contents and share historical background. 

The instructor will also encourage the use of several techniques and/or ideas particular to the subject matter each participating artist wishes to develop.
